Accommodation, Food & Drink

Payments

Full payment is taken at the time of booking your stay (bed and breakfast only). All other extras (dinner and drinks) will be charged during your stay. Details of our services are available on request and are available on our website.  In order to make a reservation with us, you must be at least 18 years old. You will need to provide your credit or debit card details to make payment for your booking with us. We accept Visa and MasterCard to secure a reservation. Please check that the details of your reservation are complete and accurate before you confirm your reservation with us. Unfortunately, we will not be liable for any delay or non-performance if you provide us with incorrect information (but we will do our best to assist you). We will confirm our acceptance of your reservation and payment by sending you an email to the email address that you provide during the reservation process. The contract between us for the provision of your room and any additional services added to your reservation will be formed when you receive this email confirmation from us.  If you think that there is a mistake in your reservation or if you require any changes to a confirmed reservation, please contact us to discuss.  All payments for a stay with us include VAT.   

 

Pets

We accommodate pets for an additional cleaning fee of £20.  Assistance dogs are always welcome.

Children

We have several rooms with twin bed capacity, travel cots for babies and​ additional z-beds if required. While the maximum occupancy is two adults, we do allow infants and babies to stay and, on request, we can make arrangements for them in rooms. However, children under the age of 17 years old are not permitted to stay in The Taybank unless there is a parent or guardian also staying at the hotel with us. We reserve the right to request valid photographic proof of identity and age so please bring this with you.  We will be happy to discuss your personal requirements.  

 

Check in/out 

Check in at The Taybank is from 3pm. Check out is by12 noon. Late check outs can be arranged with at least 24 hours prior notice and at our discretion (subject to availability). Failure to check out by 12pm on the scheduled date of departure, without prior agreement, will incur an additional charge of £25. Please have your booking confirmation e-mail available when checking in.  

 

Parking 

Parking is available for guests in the Taybank car park or in the public pay & display car park opposite the Taybank which is next to our beer garden 

 

Wifi  

Guests may make use of The Taybank’s complimentary wifi for reasonable and appropriate purposes, subject always to access and downloads being lawful, proportionate and not excessive. Wifi passwords are available in the rooms and on check in. 

Smoking

The Taybank is a non-smoking establishment.  

 

Accessibility  

If you require special assistance during your stay, please contact us to discuss, the Taybank is a listed building so we are unable to offer an elevator.    

 

Property  

All property in guest rooms remains the property of The Taybank. Guests are politely asked to remain respectful to other guests, staff and property.  We are unable to accept any liability for loss or damage to guest property.  

 

Cancellations – Your rights:​ 

When you make a booking with us, you are entitled to a full refund if a cancellation is made out-with 28 days of your scheduled arrival date. However, in the event of cancellation by you within 28 days of your schedule arrival date or non-attendance, without notice, you will be charged in full. If we are able to re-let the room and you have cancelled more than 48 hours before the scheduled arrival date, we will refund 50% of the amount, plus a £15 cancellation fee. If, however, you cancel within 48 hours of your scheduled arrival date for any reason, you will be charged in full for your booking without the right to any refund of any part of your booking.  Any pre-paid extras made with a cancelled booking will also be charged in full regardless of when the cancellation is made. We reserve the right to exercise our discretion when considering the reasons for your cancellation.  If you are concerned about the likelihood of cancelling your reservation on short notice, you should contact us to discuss and you should also consider taking out travel insurance.  

Our right to cancel for your breach
We may cancel your reservation at any time with immediate effect by giving you written notice (which includes email) if: 

  • you do not pay us when you are required to do so; or 

  • you break the contract between us in any way. 

If we cancel your reservation where you are at fault, we reserve our legal rights in respect of your breach of contract. Where your stay with us had/has not yet commenced, the total payment made or to be made by you for such room shall be deemed a cancellation charge and is not for any service. 

 

Our right to cancel - events outside our control:​ We may also cancel your reservation if an event outside of our control (including industrial action, explosion, fire, flooding, and failure of power and/or water supplies or emergency evacuation) means that we are unable to make your room available to you. In this case we will contact you to let you know as soon as possible and: 

  • if you have already paid for your room, we will refund your payment to you; or 

  • if you have not yet paid for your room, you will not have to make any payment to us. 

Save as set out above, we will not be liable or responsible for any failure to perform, or delay in performance of, any of our obligations that is caused by an event outside of our control. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Your information 

We keep your personal data safe and secure. Similar to other websites, this website and our system utilises a standard technology called cookies and web server logs to collect information about how the website and/or the system is used and how to improve them. Further details can be found in our Cookie Notice in our Privacy Policy. By providing information about you to us (as outlined in the Privacy Policy) when making a reservation, you consent (on your behalf and on behalf of each member of your group included in the booking) to such processing and you warrant that all information provided by you is accurate.  

 

The contract  

This contract formed when we confirm your reservation is between you and us. No other person shall have any rights to enforce any of its terms, whether under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties Act) 1999 or otherwise.  

 

Your rights  

As one of our guests, you have certain rights under consumer protection legislation. Nothing in these terms and conditions is intended to affect those rights.  

 

Our liability  

If we fail to comply with these terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking this contract or our failing to use reasonable care and skill, but we are not responsible for any loss or damage that is not foreseeable. Loss or damage is foreseeable if either it is obvious that it will happen or if, at the time the contract was made, both we and you knew it might happen, for example, if you discussed it with us during the sales process. We do not exclude or limit in any way our liability to you where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or the negligence of our employees, agents or subcontractors; for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; for breach of your legal rights in relation to the services including the right to receive services which are as described and supplied with reasonable skill and care. Where we are liable to you (save as prohibited by applicable law) our maximum liability to you whether in contract, tort (including negligence) or for breach of statutory duty shall in no event exceed the price of your reservation unless the Hotel Proprietor's Act 1956 applies, in which case our liability will be limited to the maximum prescribed under that Act.  

 

Applicable law 

These terms and conditions, their subject matter and formation (and any non-contractual disputes or claims) are governed by and construed in accordance with English law. However, we retain the right to bring proceedings against you for breach of these terms and conditions in your country of residence or any other relevant country. If you are resident of Scotland, you may also bring proceedings in Scotland.  

 

Severability  

If any part of these terms and conditions is deemed invalid, illegal or for any reason unenforceable then that part will be deemed deleted and will not affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining parts. Any failure by us to enforce our rights or remedies under these terms and conditions or otherwise shall not be construed as a waiver by us of those or any other rights or remedies. All rights not expressly granted in these terms and conditions are reserved.  

Gift vouchers  

Gift vouchers are for use in relation to any Taybank experience, to redeem your gift voucher please contact us directly within 12 months of the issue date. Bookings must be made in advance, quoting the voucher number. Gift vouchers are not refundable or redeemable for cash and non-transferable. Lost or stolen gift vouchers cannot be replaced. Gift vouchers must be presented upon arrival. No photocopies or photographs will be accepted. Cancellation of a booking with less than 24 hours notice or non-attendance without notice will render the voucher null and void without further liability. Vouchers must be used within 12 months of the date of purchase, after which period the voucher will expire without the right to refund.  We reserve the right to make reasonable changes to terms and conditions relating to vouchers and their use from time to time.  

Event Tickets

Tickets for Taybank events including our Long Table Dinners, Outdoor Cinema Screenings and Hogmanay Party are non-refundable.

In cases of extreme weather or unforeseen circumstances, we may be required to postpone or cancel an event at short notice. In this instance, customers will be notified and issued with an alternative ticket or a refund.
